Trayla Trailers began in its infancy stages on State Highway One, Plimmerton, back in 1991. Dave Hobbs started out as a one-man-band and was then known as Trailer Centre. The business grew and some nine years later Dave decided it was time for a lifestyle change, so packed up and moved to Levin in the Horowhenua. He and his wife continued the business under the name of Hobbs Traylas.
Our current ‘TRAYLA’ design became established after the move to Levin and is now a well-recognised brand nationwide – with over 20,000 trailers produced.
In 2018 Dave’s eldest son, Ben Hobbs, joined the family business and now runs the day-to-day operations. Dave and Ben have some 39 years’ combined experience in the NZ trailer industry, offering the unparalleled expertise of a genuine New Zealand made product – manufactured right here on our premises in Levin. A product that has now stood the test of time.
